Tips for Storing Your Wedding Dress

1. Get your dress cleaned by a dry cleaner who specialises in cleaning wedding dresses. Cleaning removes stains that may not be visible now, but may show later on.

2. Try, where possible, to store your gown away from any sun light, heat, and damp.

3. Preferably, store your dress in a warm, dry room, but try to place it out of direct sunlight.

4. Always store your dress in a pH neutral box and pack it with acid free tissue paper (acid free tissue paper will become acidic if kept in a box that is not acid & lignin free)

5. We offer high quality storage boxes which

*Protect your dress from accidents;
*Eliminate light (Unless you have opted for a box with a window)
*The box is breathable (i.e. non plastic) and pH neutral i.e. contain no acid or alkali. Whilst your box may arrive in a plastic bag to protect it in transit, it should not be stored in this plastic bag as the box needs to breathe;
*We do not use boxes that are flat packed and boxes with metal staples that may rust.

6. Once packed away, check on your dress every 6-12 months to ensure nothing untoward has happened to it, then repack it to help prevent creases becoming permanent.
